I may not be able to pass the color blindness test during the interview (yes, that's a real thing), but you can! Spend the summer in Fremont, CA working on technical design with an eye for color, material, and harmony.

In this role you will develop the skills and learn the process for approving appearance parts for color, appearance quality, and harmony. You will engage with suppliers, giving direction based on the product target and approving/rejecting parts. The Design Quality Team interfaces with Design and Engineering to gain an understanding of design intent and develops product with suppliers as a champion of that intent. You will work with Tesla Product Excellence/Industrialization Teams to support color and appearance harmony reviews. You will manage timing, parts documents (AARs) and the supply base through the supplier portal . This position will consist of tracking timing of masters material development including managing the inventory and distribution of masters.
An ideal candidate would possess high energy and flexibility with the ability to understand program timelines and cross-functional activities. You will be expected to push the normal automotive limits and help define new processes or standards as the company grows. The position provides a rare and unique experience that sets it apart from other typical automotive positions.
