The approximately 35 books published each year cover the fields of art, photography, archaeology, architecture, conservation, and the humanities for the general public, children, and specialists. Most books are published in print, and an increasing number are published digitally as well.

As a member of the Design and Production Department within Getty Publications, the Designer will work closely with editors, production coordinators, and other Getty staff and freelancers to produce a wide range of high-quality illustrated art books, including collections-based titles, academic monographs, trade titles, and children’s books, for both print and digital formats.

Getty Publications offers a collegial, family-friendly, and collaborative work environment, where work-life balance is prioritized. We support a hybrid work schedule with some days at our Getty Center offices and some days at home. Staff members can participate in community service, serve on committees on diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion and on mentorship and community building, and contribute to the book-acquisition process.
