Designer, Multicultural Product Design - Target (Remote or Hybrid in MN)
As a Designer on Target’s Multicultural Product Design team, you will be supporting the Multicultural Product Design Home Décor portfolio and drive the design process throughout development cycles with trend and category research, concept development, selection of color/materials/finishes, and the creation of product assortments, silhouettes, form language. Using CAD/hand sketches, you’ll translate ideas for product direction. This includes preparing professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, and material samples. In addition, you will support and drive product designs to maintain overall creative direction, merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points. You’ll build brand cohesion by partnering with peers across the division to ensure continuity. In collaboration with product technical designers and sourcing partners, you’ll also identify, troubleshoot, and resolve product issues. You will help bring a strategy of inclusive product to life for Target.
You will support and be responsible for Owned Brand product and Target partnership brand work that achieve overall Multicultural product design strategy and merchant objectives. Under the overall direction of the Director of Multicultural Product Design and Advancement, you will work with an assigned category and manage your own process and calendar. These categories may include but are not limited to: Home Décor, Wall Art, Stationery, Lighting, and Bedding. You will be expected to maintain a diligent approach to workload, which includes timely communication with internal and external partners.

About you:
• Two-four year degree in Product Design, Graphic/Illustration, Fine Art or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience in CAD illustration and 3D software a plus
• Experience working with branded product development
• Experience researching & developing Trend & Concept Direction
• Experience developing CMF (color/materials/finish) & Art Direction
• Experience applying print & pattern, materials & finishes to product
• Knowledge of textiles, construction, raw materials & product production a plus
• Experience assimilating product feedback
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience working in a retail or product development environment
• Ability to build relationships in order to successfully work in a team environment
• Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative and cost-effective design solutions
This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location.A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member worksfull-time from home oran alternatelocation that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.
Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $65,600.00 to $118,100.00.
