3D Store & Environments Designer - Patagonia (Ventura, CA)

As a 3D Store + Environment’s designer, you will work cross-functionally to develop 3D design solutions for a wide variety of projects, including fixtures, shop-in-shops, new stores/remodels, and trade/media/consumer events. This role is an individual contributor on the Environmental Design team, which is part of the Patagonia Design Studio. You will work with and maintain relationships with peers in design, marketing, events & experiences, and product, balancing creative design with waste and footprint reduction, to help us save our home planet.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and retail/sales peers on creative, compelling, and innovative design solutions.

  • 3D modeling and rendering of complex branded structures and environments.

  • Produce floor plans, layouts, and detailed presentation decks.

  • Produce 2D artwork and build print ready files.

  • Interface with vendors, contractors, and external design agencies.

  • Perform site surveys and documentation.

  • Keep abreast of new 3D modeling/rendering techniques and software updates.

  • Maintain materials library and sample boards.

  • Provide regular communication with ED team members and other stakeholders regarding project status.

Experience You Bring:

  • College degree in Art/Design, or equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of 3D design experience in a brand or agency environment.

  • Proficient in the following: Sketchup Pro; Rendering software (KeyShot, Podium, Etc.); Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator); Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word and Excel); Keynote; FTP file transfer; Ideation/visualization via hand sketching/drawing, model building or other non-CAD techniques.

  • Knowledge of fabrication/printing process: construction, masonry, wood and metal working, lighting, etc.

  • Knowledge of printing process: building print files, substrates, digital printing, finishes, etc.

  • Flexibility and ability to navigate changing priorities.

  • Deadline driven and works well under pressure.

  • Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility.

  • Excellent communication skills, in person, on the phone and in writing.

  • Cultural connection to the brand.
