Creative Strategist - Pollen (Remote E.U.)
Pollen is looking for a Creative Strategist to help cross functional teams add cultural and community-driven dimension to our travel experiences. Through creatively compelling narratives, the Creative Strategist elevates original and artist-led concepts into transformative cultural moments for specific communities. The Creative Strategist is a masterful, passionate storyteller - someone who is an artist in the ways they visualize and materialize complex yet compelling ideas, philosophies and truths by combining (1) insights and data about communities tastes and preferences + (2) insights about the artists and brands we work with + (3) knowledge about travel and destination marketing. The Creative Strategist will help develop tools to inform how we answer the question, “why does this experience exist?” Success is when we pitch these concepts to agents, managers, artists, and brand partners and they instantly get excited by the concept and want to be part of it.

In the next 12 months you will:
Become an expert in our audiences & communities:
Communities & Subcultures: you will develop a profound understanding of our consumer communities tastes, preferences and cultural tensions.
Artists and Brands: you will develop a deep knowledge of what motivates artists and brands to work with Pollen to create one-of-a-kind experiences
Make tremendous contributions to the cross-functional team (Content, Insights, Marketing and Business Strategy) accountable for developing original concepts and brand marketing strategies for travel experiences.
Develop the narratives for those concepts to bring them to life - the destination, the community, the content.
Write briefs for our in-house Creative Studio or third party agencies who can develop creative assets you may need to fully bring these concepts to life.
Participate in pitch meetings with talent agents, managers, artists, brands and help sell through these concepts - inspiring and exciting partners to say “yes” and want to be part of these concepts.
Once we get a “yes” from partners, you will brief internal and external teams and formally help execute the campaign and experience.
Experience you have:
You have an active, personal or professional creative practice that keeps you informed about the world, its cultures and where they’re headed.
You have a background in or strong affinity for creative development and design, and are comfortable using software/media (Adobe Creative Suite or otherwise) to help illustrate an idea and/or creative direction.
You’ve created concepts for consumer products and/or advertising campaigns while working at an agency *and* while working for a company (preference for agency and client side experience, but not 100% mandatory).
You’ve worked in environments that required you to be a nimble, resourceful, idea person -- now you’re someone who is as comfortable with a one-page brief with a same-day turnaround as with an in-person client-direct briefing and a two-week deadline.
You can demonstrate a bias towards action and be ready to roll up your sleeves.
You can gather insights and business intelligence from various teams to write concise, simple and inspiring briefs that respond to and define culture, and quarterback the strategy for these concepts.
Strategic thinker with creative flare and project management skills: experience crafting world class creative strategy, spearheading creative direction and execution.
Leading without authority. A veteran in building strong relationships with trust and demonstrating effective leadership qualities.
Solid experience in working with creative agencies (creatives, designers, producers) and the ability to provide concise, clear, and actionable creative feedback/ direction.
Proactive, fast, and flexible problem-solver with superb time, resource, and stakeholder management.
Ability to interact meaningfully with people of diverse backgrounds, personalities and expertise (e.g. product engineer in Silicon Valley & creative executive in Hollywood).
Comfortably keeping up to date with the zeitgeist in entertainment, culture, tech and business innovations around the world.
