About the Role
We are hiring an Urban Design Data Analyst to work on our Urban Strategy and Planning Team in New York.
We are looking for the right person to help our team
(1) gather, clean, and interpret urban data;
(2) analyze data in for urban scale projects; and
(3) apply evidence-based research and analysis to urban planning and design projects.

The Urban Design Data Analyst will report to the Global Leader of Urban Strategy and Planning, who is based in New York City.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Collect, clean, transform, analyse, and visualize spatial data on research and design projects
Design and implement custom metrics for advanced spatial analysis
Design and deliver bespoke data visualizations for project work
Assist with maintaining data archives
Work hand in hand with designers on a range of project work, including but not limited to: feasibility and assessment, urban planning and design projects at a range of scales, urban strategy and framework development, research and development in tools and processes to advance urban strategy and planning work
Conduct desktop research and thought leadership on spatial analytics and its application to regional design considerations
Prepare reports and presentations of outputs
About You
In this role, you will be working closely with the Global Leader of Urban Strategy and Planning to understand and decode the built environment and apply findings to design and planning strategies and interventions. You will be working with an international team of design researchers across Europe and Australia, but your focus will be on helping expand our presence in the North American market.

You will be able to Demonstrate:
Masters-level qualification in Architecture, Urban Design, or Planning, or Masters-level qualification in Spatial Data Science with Bachelors qualification in Architecture, Urban Design, or Planning
3-5 years professional experience applying skills of advanced spatial analysis to the design industry
Experience of working with urban datasets
Experience working on city-scale challenges
Excellent GIS skills (including comfort working in platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and GRASS GIS)
Excellent skills in Grasshopper, Rhino, and Auto-CAD. Proficiency in Revit is a plus
Excellent skills in the Adobe Design Suite and Microsoft Office Suite. Keynote is a plus
Comfortable working with Git
The ability to apply advanced spatial and statistical modelling techniques to real-world problems
The ability to effectively communicate data models, findings, and application to design and work collaboratively with project design teams
