KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Studio Director is the Chief of Staff to the Senior Design Director, and is responsible for managing overall studio connectivity, process, and workflow with design and their cross-functional partners. You are the key operational partner to the Senior Design Director, and you are the direct line manager to the Studio Managers and Producers. You will work in tight partnership with Nike Virtual Studios leadership, cross-functional partners and external agencies to ensure work is appropriately managed between and resourced. Key responsibilities include:
Ensure the team is running effectively, efficiently, and delivering according to Nike Virtual Studios’ daily, seasonal, and long-term objectives
Balance the tactical needs of creative delivery with the communication skills required to orchestrate, coach, and inspire their team
Prioritize and resource team projects, ensuring work streams are adequately supported, work is delivered on time, within scope, and on brief
Maintain top-line knowledge of status and health of all projects in the studio
Display problem-solving expertise and works with Studio Managers and Producers to mitigate project risks and elevate to leadership when needed.
Work in close partnership with the Creative leads, Creative Operations and Partners to define project scope, budget, resourcing and timing
Cast the right team required to complete the work
Proactively remove obstacles, elevate risk, and protect the creative intent
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
A passion for sport, gaming, culture and creative storytelling; with the ambition to use it to change how we live our lives
Expertise in the real-world demands of delivering best-in-class creative in service to product and brand marketing
10+ years in creative team oversight, production, and project management
Professional experience in design, client or agency-side, managing multiple projects across various seasons and teams
Direct experience as a manager of managers, with documented success across a variety of challenging managerial scenarios
A strong ability to solve problems and solutions-oriented attitude
An ability to see and understand how individual work streams connect into and support larger brand and business strategies
Expertise in the real-world demands of delivering best-in-class creative
Portfolio of work demonstrating experience delivering multi-disciplinary creative executions of retail, live & virtual experiences
Experience managing work streams in Figma, Miro, Notion, Asana, Box, Google Suite, Keynote and other collaborative design tools (3D software a plus)
Experience producing comprehensive work on emerging Virtual platforms
Passion for current trends in social channels, virtual platforms, emerging technology, design, art, gaming, interactive and experience design
Deep agency and technologist connections — you know just who to call for anything that comes up on a project
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships
Ability to cast, scope, collaborate, and effectively manage external partners
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $ 142,500 to $ 310,000. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate’s location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
