USC Health Sciences Advancement is seeking a Digital Media and Visual Design Specialist. Working directly under the supervision of the Senior Writer and Digital Director, the Specialist works closely with the entire communications team and various Keck Medicine stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be motivated, proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented. The position requires excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to be decisive and adaptable. Candidates should have experience with asset management tools, SEO best practices, and content management systems.
Essential Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
Manages, curates, and executes institutional web content requests for both the Keck Medicine of USC and Keck School of Medicine of USC websites.
Manages Salesforce Marketing Cloud builds for Keck Medicine of USC Advancement; serves as Marketing Cloud lead for department, interfacing with school and university Marketing Cloud and compliance leads.
Partners with communications team members, including writing and design leads, to develop and optimize content for digital storytelling. Proactively suggest updates and compelling content for various digital streams.
Optimizes and uploads text, images, captions, photo credits, and permissions information, ensuring accessibility and copyright compliance.
Builds and maintains relationships with project teams
Oversees photo and video asset management tools.
Anticipates and adapts to rapid changes in production schedules or business requirements.
Oversees analytics for digital platforms and make recommendations for improvements according to best practices.
Adheres to university visual identity when creating designs incorporating official graphics.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 5 years of experience
Minimum three years’ experience with a content management system (CMS)-based website.
Basic image manipulation (using Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Creative Suite) and understanding of image end-use standards.
Understanding of SEO, accessibility requirements, and usability standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an academic or research-oriented communications environment.
Knowledge of cross-platform data sharing and compatibility.
Budget management.
Demonstrated affinity for diplomacy and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships at all levels.
Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
Ability to multi-task effectively and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
