As an experienced Environment Art Director, reporting to Skate's Franchise Art Director, you will be part of our Art Leadership team:
Responsibilities
Support Art leadership in achieving a high standard for the world art vision of San Vansterdam!
Build and maintain high level world bible, style guides, and visual language documents and presentations.
Take ownership of several areas of the game art content and ensure these are delivered on time and at desired quality.
Manage the "what" we are making, closely collaborating with the World director that works on the "How" we are making it.
Collaborate with World Director, Design, Tech Directors, Producers and Art Directors to create and present inspirational creative briefs with concepts, moodboards, references and storytelling for current and future districts and to envision future expansion of the world through narrative.
Drive daily reviews and provide creative and visual feedback aligned with the high level art direction and visual narrative.
Identify visual needs of project and lead collaboration, planning and scheduling with directors, producers and leads.
Provide Live service support and driving initiatives through the product lifecycle, maintains visual style/theme/brand consistency on world.
Partner with internal and external teams, working with the outsource manager and the asset bank manager and with user research team.
Escalate risks and concerns and propose creative solutions taking the capacity in account.
Manage direct reports (3-5), mentor and provide feedback to them on art skills and performance; provide them with career growth opportunities.
Qualifications

3+ years experience delivering AAA titles in an art leadership role
10+ years of experience on environment game development as an artist or lead
Passionate about telling story through environment dressing and extremely sensitive of the player experience over everything else
Deep understanding of all aspects of contemporary 3D game development: concept art, prop modeling, environment modeling, lighting, animation, visual effects and user-interface design
Experience doing paint-overs to convey visuals to both the internal team and partners and give clear feedback on intentions
Is adept at using both art and data to formulate visual direction. You know how to quickly adapt your direction to match KPIs (key performance indicators) and researches founding of a Live service development model.
Experience developing games for the mobile market and developing 2D and 3D assets for monetized live service games is a plus
US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

º $154,800 - $213,300
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $131,600 - $179,600
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $131,600 - $195,200
