PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE:

The Designer of Store Design will be involved in various aspects of store projects from initial concept design through technical development and execution.  Provide design solutions, produce global design guidelines, and oversee global store projects in all regions.  Collaboration with the VM and Store Design teams is required.  Additional responsibilities will include maintaining consistency of the EL brand codes and design standards throughout our global markets.  As we develop new concepts, the position will require one to be cost effective, while remaining at the forefront of design, technology, and sustainability.  All Store Design team members will be responsible to bring their ideas to life through presentation materials and detail drawings.

Will report to Director of Store Design, while working closely with VP Store Design and support the overall Global Store Design Team in ensuring Global Brand vision is upheld at consistent level of excellence while addressing regional parameters and concerns. 

 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and manage the overall store design across all retail formats:

  • Free Standing Stores, Department Stores and Specialty-Multi (SMC, such as Sephora, ULTA)

  • Responsible for both 2D and 3D visualization of projects. This includes sketches, schematic plans, renderings, design development drawings, and technical drawings for millwork and fixtures.

  • Review all site criteria and vendor criteria prior to beginning an overall design.

  • Partner closer with other teammates and regional counterparts to ensure all deadlines are met in terms of deliverables and approvals.

  • Review vendor and architectural shop drawings while partnering with external vendors and internal team members.

  • Coordinate with visual merchandising, creative, retail experience, education, and sales to develop designs that align with EL consumer journey and services.

  • Work closely Director and VP of Store Design to ensure Global Brand vision is upheld at consistent level of excellence while addressing regional parameters and concerns.

  • Manage high volume workload and prioritize project requirements effectively.

  • Ensure clear communication, transfer of information and alignment of regional teams to maintain and build collaborative and efficient process.

  • Liaise with International Affiliates and Regional Store Design teams.

  • New materials selection and specifications.

  • Prototyping schedules and reviews.

  • Maintain awareness of trends, styles, materials and technology relative to the prestige and luxury skincare competition.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture, Industrial Design or Design equivalent mandatory.

  • 1-2 years of architectural or retail design and construction experience.

  • Ability to detail fixtures in realistic and executable fashion.

  • Knowledge of materials and methods of fabrication and installation of fixtures and construction.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate others on team.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of retail trends and environments.

  • Must be able to work independently as well as with the team.

  • Must be able to follow projects from inception to completion.

  • Must be able to execute several projects at once in a timely and efficient manner.

 

DIGITAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2D proficient (Vectorworks or AutoCad).

  • 3D proficient (Studiomax, Rhino, Sketchup or equivalent).

  • Adobe Creative Suite proficient (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).

 

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $59,500 to $89,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
