Assistant Manager, Digital Technologies - Adidas (Portland, OR)

Purpose & Overall Relevance For The Organisation

Assist and support the process for the creation of virtual prototypes based on development data for footwear and apparel products. Partnering with IT and business partners to define a robust product backlog, managing capability expansion increments and supporting the the development of best practice definitions are a few examples of the activities that will be expected from this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of virtual product creation workflows by working together with business and IT teams

  • Represent the business views for virtual product creation, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that their views and requirements are captured in the backlog

  • Support the creation of training documentation for virtual product creation

  • Act as main connection between business and IT teams to ensure understanding of processes involved in virtual product creation

  • Assist in the refinement of virtual product creation backlog itmes to ensure that the product team is delivering the right enhancements to support business needs

  • Work together with business teams to organise and manage the 3D and 2D product data for an efficient visualisation workflow

  • Keep track of work progress and virtual product creation workflow status for key milestones and report it to major stakeholders involved

  • Check data quality all along the virtual creation process and support all required steps for data improvements

  • Take over the responsibility for key steps within the visualization process workflow development, and ensure key business interests of the digital strategy are pursued

  • Support the visualization process by managing important process steps such as prepare 3D data, refine 3D data for visualization, refine 2D graphics data, etc.

  • Help to create and enable the required data libraries for digital materials that are needed for a lean process of virtual product creation

  • Support the optimization of workflow efficiency by a close teamwork with the scope managers for sake of speed and quality in virtual product creation

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • 2D, 3D Software Application experience (Blender, Rhino preferred)

  • Motivation to learn about new processes within a digital product creation process

  • Solutions-oriented approach and entrepreneurial mindset

  • Computer literacy (Python Programming desired)

  • Ability to use graphics applications or desktop publishing (Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator etc)

  • Fluent in English, German or other second language an advantage

  • Motivation to learn about new prototyping processes within an industrial product creation process

Requisite Education And Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Four-year college or university degree or 2 years of work experience or technical education in multimedia art, media informatics, CAD, industrial design and/ or computer graphics.
