Director of Design - Hilton (Miami, FL)

This is your opportunity to join the CALA Hilton Architecture, Design & Construction team to deliver exceptional experiences for our Owners & Guests. As a Director of Design on the CALA AD&C team reporting to the Senior Director of Design, you will be primarily responsible for executing the Design Process within the CALA AD&C Team Structure and specifically executing the All-Inclusive Design Process amongst other projects. This includes new construction, renovations, and conversions of company managed, franchised assets, and new opportunities within the Hilton Portfolio.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Lead & manage the design phase for new construction, renovations, and conversions of company managed, franchised assets, and new opportunities within the Hilton Portfolio.

  • Lead & manage the design phase for All-Inclusive new construction, renovations, and conversions of company managed, franchised assets, and new opportunities within the Hilton Portfolio.

  • Oversee Project Design Deliverables from conception to completion, ensuring brand alignment, project delivery & budget expectations.

  • Lead the creation of project design briefs for brand and local market expectations. Source and conceptualize design direction, communicating direction & standards within visual and verbal presentation formatting.

  • Provide comprehensive technical design services, including the review of detailed design drawing sets, specifications, finishes, and shop drawings from project concept to execution.

  • Source relevant products, design techniques, and production methods relevant to hospitality trends and corporate ESG initiatives, while maintaining industry relationships.

How you will collaborate with others:

  • Interface extensively with Ownership, AD&C Leadership and Corporate Stakeholders to ensure alignment with design narratives, brand standards, brand values, and strategic corporate objectives, aiming for strong ROI and enhanced Guest Environments.

  • Engage in key internal and external meetings, representing design priorities while providing project specific design solutions when appropriate.

  • Routine collaboration with project teams throughout the project lifecycle for adherence to Brand Standards, shop drawing review, specifications, product review & relevant value engineering of materials, finishes and selections.

What projects you will take ownership of:

  • All-Inclusive Hotel & Resort Design, ensuring alignment to brand pillars, standards, along with all strategic corporate initiatives and objectives, offering specific value-additive solutions as necessary.

  • Full Service, Lifestyle & Collection and Luxury Branded Properties, ensuring alignment to brand pillars, market requirements, brand standards, along with all strategic corporate initiatives and objectives, offering specific value-additive solutions as necessary.

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of design experience as a design lead and/or design manager for hotel operator or ownership group, or Interior Designer at a firm specializing in hospitality.

  • Management experience in design delivery of all-inclusive hotels and resort environments.

  • Expertise in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam Revu.

  • Fluent in English & Spanish, both written and verbal.

  • Travel up to 60% should be expected throughout Latin America and USA as necessary. 

It would be useful if you have:

  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.

  • Team Management Experience
