Distinguished Architect - Autodesk (Remote)
Position Overview
Autodesk is on a journey to transform its business through realization of our platform strategy and is seeking a Distinguished Architect to help us in that journey. As our customers move their data and workflows into the Autodesk Platform, our ability to deliver a trustworthy solution becomes paramount. We must deliver a solution that our customers find dependable and performant, while simultaneously addressing security, privacy, and cost concerns.
As an individual contributor senior technology leader reporting to the VP of Strategic Technologies, you will support technologies upon which many of our existing and future products and services are built. You will assess tech stacks, prioritize areas of improvement, and identify possible business opportunities. You will play a key part in realizing Autodesk's platform vision and transforming multiple industries.

Responsibilities
Work with peers throughout Autodesk to understand our architectural landscape and challenges, articulate opportunities, and motivate change with an emphasis on building trust
Work with leadership to articulate our current architecture and inform future investments via quantitative and qualitative arguments
Assess current development and operational practices from an architectural perspective, emphasizing privacy, security and resilience
Propose, prioritize and encourage adoption of Autodesk architecture and practice standards
Coordinate with multiple industry division product development teams, other members of our centralized platform team, and other teams as required through effective communication and networking
In collaboration with peers, provide input on solving current and ongoing architecture challenges, designing and articulating architectural direction for platform and interrelated divisions
Contribute to cross-organization working groups targeted to solving some of Autodesk's most pressing architectural challenges
Maintain expert-level, knowledge of architectural patterns, technologies and trends
Bring innovative, state of the industry architectural thinking to our practice of software architecture
Track industry best practices and advocate where relevant
Write and speak internally about your work through internal conferences, mentoring, seminars, etc. Some international travel may be required for internal meetings
Minimum Qualifications
15+ years of experience as a software engineer / architect with both desktop and cloud
Self-directed with an ability to complete work strategically and efficiently

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $189,000 and $305,800. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
