Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Construction Manager to join our team! This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual to work closely with the founding team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company embarks on its next stage of major growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is experienced in food service site development, is organized, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream!).

Our Construction Manager will report directly to the Director of Store Development. This role would be based in the NYC Metro area.

Compensation:

$90K/yr - $120K/yr

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement cost-saving construction strategies to reduce year-over-year expenses while driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and project delivery

  • Embody a culture of continuous improvement by thoroughly evaluating the successes and opportunities of each project. Utilize the insights gained to refine current processes or propose new, innovative initiatives that drive impactful results

  • Responsible for managing department capital expenditures within budget, and efficiently processing and tracking all project invoices

  • Demonstrate your results-driven expertise by meticulously tracking project milestones, expertly managing risks, and delivering regular, detailed updates to senior management and stakeholders

  • Conduct on-site visits throughout the construction process, generating comprehensive reports from initial set-out to punch list completion and opening, to uphold fit-out quality, pinpoint unresolved issues, and facilitate necessary follow-up actions

  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directe


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role supporting market expansion /or construction activities; restaurant development experience preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of ProCore and Excel; experience with G Suite (Google Drive, Docs, etc.) is a plus

  • A strong customer service attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

  • Expertise in developing and implementing cost-saving measures and process improvements.

  • Very strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask

  • Available to travel, as needed

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
