The Role

HOKA is looking for a talented and dynamic Brand Designer, Retail and Events to join our internal brand creative team. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in graphic design and spatial design, with extensive experience in 3D rendering software and Adobe Creative Suite. This role involves creating engaging retail and event environments that reflect HOKA’s brand identity and enhance the customer experience. The successful candidate will bring a passion for environmental design and immersive experiences, with a sharp eye for detail and a keen awareness of trends, technology, and culture. Experience in designing visual identity systems, signage, and environmental graphics is essential. The role will require transforming creative ideas into tangible experiences through both 2D and 3D elements, from conceptual and schematic stages to final build drawings and production files. The Brand Designer will work on a variety of visual identities and branded environments, supporting project directors, teams, fabricators, and clients throughout the process. The primary focus of this role will be on bringing our product and brand campaigns to life at retail, both HOKA-owned stores as well as wholesale.

Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

  • Design Development: Create visually engaging retail and event spaces, integrating HOKA’s brand identity through both 2D and 3D design elements.

  • 3D Rendering & Spatial Design: Use 3D rendering software to visualize and execute compelling environments that captivate customers and showcase the brand's narrative.

  • Production & Execution: Transform creative concepts into technical drawings and production files, ensuring seamless execution in physical spaces.

  • Retail Campaigns: Focus on translating product and brand campaigns into physical retail environments, supporting both HOKA-owned stores and wholesale locations.

Who You Are

You are a talented creative at heart, a Strong team player with excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong love for brand storytelling through experiential design.

We’d love to hear from people with

  • 5+ years of experience in retail design, event design, experiential design, or a similar field, with a strong portfolio demonstrating spatial, environmental and graphic design work.

  • Proficiency in 2D drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Vectorworks) and 3D modeling software (e.g., Rhino, SketchUp, Cinema 4D, Enscape, Podium, Keyshot) to create high-quality visuals with simulated materials and lighting.

  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with additional tools such as Figma and basic graphic design.

  • Experience working with brands, adhering to brand guidelines, and creating visually appealing designs across various platforms that align with brand identity.

  • A current portfolio that exhibits a strong understanding of modern design principles, typography, color theory, layout techniques, and visual storytelling.

  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles, including digital and motion graphics.

  • Familiarity with print production processes, color management, and pre-press procedures, with experience collaborating with print vendors.

  • Excellent spatial design and graphic design skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

  • Proven experience in art direction for physical retail and event environments, sets, and displays, and the ability to present and communicate design concepts effectively.

  • Experience with fabrication shops and specialty vendors, including managing sourcing, fabrication, and installation processes.

  • Open to travel domestically and abroad

Salary:

$90,000 - $100,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
