Position Summary

  • The Associate Designer reports to the Director, Design

  • Full-Time

  • Remote

As an Associate Designer in the construction and foodservice industry, you play a crucial role in supporting our commercial kitchen design projects. In collaboration with our Design team, you'll contribute to the creation of draft layouts, production drawings, and presentation materials. This role involves working closely with clients during schematic design, design development, and prototypical package development, making it a rewarding entry point into the field.



Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Collaborative Design Support:

    • Assist in collaborative efforts on various commercial kitchen projects, gaining exposure to all design phases.

    • Work closely with senior team members to contribute to design concepts and project deliverables.

  • Conceptualization and Sketching:

    • Contribute to the conceptualization of design layouts, utilizing creative input to enhance space utilization and workflow efficiency.

    • Learn to conduct basic capacity and sales studies to inform design decisions.

  • Client Interaction and Learning:

    • Engage in client interactions to understand their spatial requirements and preferences.

    • Collaborate with the team to translate client visions into actionable design elements.

  • Coordination and Documentation:

    • Assist in coordinating the lifecycle of drawings, from order placement to procurement, under the guidance of experienced team members.

    • Learn to document design plans, ensuring clarity and adherence to quality standards.

  • Presentation and Training Documentation:

    • Contribute to the development of graphical presentation drawings, showcasing design concepts to clients and stakeholders.

    • Participate in the creation of training documentation, gaining exposure to industry standards and best practices.

  • Problem-Solving and Learning Curve:

    • Proactively identify challenges and work alongside experienced team members to find innovative solutions.

    • Embrace a continuous learning curve, leveraging mentorship opportunities to enhance problem-solving skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 0 - 2 years of relevant experience, making this an ideal entry-level position for passionate individuals, or equivalent Military or practical experience.

  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills, including software such as Revit, Navisworks Manage, BIM360, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, AutoCAD, AutoQuotes, KCL, Skype, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
