$71K/yr - $90K/yr + Stock options

Role Overview

The Digital Practice Researcher I will play a critical role in advancing the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM), computational design, and custom digital workflows within our research and consulting team. This position is ideal for a design professional with a passion for technology, data-driven design, and a desire to push the boundaries of what architecture and consulting can achieve.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge tools and workflows to enhance our consulting practice. Your contributions will directly influence project delivery, team efficiency, and client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities


Digital Workflow Development:

  • Design and implement innovative BIM and computational design workflows to support architecture and sustainability consulting projects.

Tool Creation & Customization:

  • Develop and refine digital tools using software like Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper, Dynamo, and Python to streamline project workflows.

Research & Development:

  • Collaborate with the research team to prototype new approaches to integrating energy modeling, daylighting, and embodied carbon analysis into architectural workflows.

Project Delivery Support:

  • Act as a BIM lead for consulting and architectural projects, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with industry standards.

Team Training & Development:

  • Mentor team members in BIM best practices and computational tools; develop training materials and workflows to build internal capacity.

Standards Creation:

  • Establish and maintain firm-wide standards for digital practice, including model management, data visualization, and automation protocols.

Coordination with Leadership:

  • Collaborate with leadership to align digital practices with business goals, contributing to improved efficiency, creativity, and project outcomes.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and consultants to enhance collaboration across disciplines using advanced tools and processes.


Qualifications

Education & Licensure:

  • Professional degree in Architecture or related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s).

  • Licensure or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in architectural design and/or consulting.

  • Proficiency in BIM management with advanced Revit experience.

  • Expertise in computational design tools (Rhino/Grasshopper, Dynamo) and scripting languages (Python, C#).

  • Experience with sustainability workflows, including energy modeling and daylighting analysis, is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of BIM standards and model management.

  • Familiarity with parametric design, data visualization, and API integration for design tools.

  • Proficiency in software like Revit, Rhino, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical workflows into accessible processes for non-technical team members.

Location

Hybrid work environment in Atlanta, GA. Mon/Wed/Fri from home. Tue/Thu must be in-person for mentorship, collaboration, and training.
