Lead visual design for exhibits, environments and digital media

Description

In this role, you’ll define art direction and visual design approaches that communicate narratives, information, and ideas for cultural, social, and research clients. You’ll work across a variety of mediums: exhibition and environmental graphics, brand identities, and media formats such as websites, multimedia projections, and interactive installations. Our ideal candidate combines conceptual thinking with practical experience in production. They are also highly iterative and collaborative, with a versatile and progressive aesthetic sensibility.

Salary

$60,000 - $90,000 per year


What You’ll Do

  • Develop visual concepts and art direction based on strategy and story

  • Create and develop design documentation, including visual systems, graphic elevations, style guides, and presentations for screen-based media

  • Develop and coordinate 2D/3D graphics workflows and processes across studio disciplines and external consultants

  • Develop and oversee the final production of all visual and graphic design deliverables

  • Interact with clients and users to elicit and clarify design requirements 

  • Coordinate with physical designers, content developers, and software developers

What We Require

  • 4–6 years’ experience working in a client services environment as an art director/visual designer

  • Relevant experience in spatial communications and visual identity

  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, impeccable execution

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and justify a design rationale 

  • Demonstrated experience with design and design prototyping tools such as Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
