We are seeking an experienced Architect or Drafter to join our team in designing and developing blueprints for commercial office renovations in Phoenix, Arizona. The incumbent will play a critical role in creating compliant, high-quality architectural and engineering plans that encompass all aspects of commercial office renovations, including space planning, lighting and electrical layouts, HVAC systems, plumbing, and mechanical configurations. This position requires familiarity with Phoenix building codes and regulations to ensure all designs meet city requirements for permitting and approval.

Salary:

$75K/yr - $100K/yr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and draft architectural plans, blueprints, and design documents for commercial office renovations that meet City of Phoenix building codes and standards.

  • Design office layouts and prepare detailed plans for space utilization, lighting/electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical requirements.

  • Ensure all architectural designs are optimized for functionality, safety, and aesthetics while adhering to budget constraints and project timelines.

  • Prepare documents that are complete, accurate, and ready for submission to the City for permitting and approval.

  • Collaborate with contractors and project managers to ensure plans are accurately implemented during the build-out and renovation process.

  • Conduct site visits and assessments as needed to verify field conditions and adapt plans as required.

  • Liaise with City officials and inspectors as needed to facilitate project approvals and ensure code compliance.

  • Provide technical guidance to the project team regarding construction methodologies and materials that best meet project specifications.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Drafting, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience drafting blueprints and design documents for commercial office spaces.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar architectural software.

  • Strong knowledge of Phoenix building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes.

  • Demonstrated experience with commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce precise, compliant design documents.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors, inspectors, and City officials.


Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to perform field measurements and assess as-built conditions for renovations.

  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials is a plus.

  • A valid Arizona architectural license is preferred but not required.
