🪵 About the Role
As the Founding Sales Lead at AUAR, you will lead our commercial efforts as we scale our sustainable timber housing solution through distributed robotic micro-factories. Up until now, sales has been founder-led; this is a unique opportunity to be the founding member of the sales team and be in the driving seat as we grow the team in the coming months and years. Reporting into the CEO, you will be able to hit the ground running benefitting from the pipeline of home-builders we’ve already engaged. Over time, your role will expand as you work closely with our founders and leadership team to develop and execute the sales strategy, cultivate relationships with new and existing clients, and help expand our customer base. The potential for this role is huge and we're looking for someone who wants to be there at the very beginning of the team forming and grow their role as the team grows.
✏️ Key Responsibilities
Strategy: Own and execute the next stage of AUAR’s commercial strategy, expanding our customer base from a few to dozens of clients.
Funnel: Oversee the entire sales process — from identifying qualified leads to signed contracts, securing deals, and ensuring successful implementation.
Playbook: Help build and continuously refine the playbook for AUAR’s sales process, ensuring it is scalable and adaptable to different markets.
Collateral: Build and refine KPIs and marketing materials to support sales efforts and strengthen AUAR’s position in the market.
Customer Insights: Engage with customers regularly to understand their needs and pain points, contributing valuable feedback to influence our product roadmap.
Team Growth: As AUAR’s first full-time commercial hire, you will be resourceful and hands-on, with plans to build and eventually lead a high-performing sales team.
🤸🏾♀️ About You
5+ Years Experience: Proven track record with specific experience selling products into the construction or building industry. Experience selling complex products is a bonus.
Hands-On Mindset: A “do-er” rather than just a “thinker” — you are willing to get your hands dirty and execute with a high level of ownership.
Commercial Acumen: You're commercially minded and experienced in modelling returns for customers.
Strong Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams (including R&D).
Growth Mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity and able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing startup environment. You are always learning and adapting.
Values-Driven: A strong alignment with AUAR’s mission and values, with a passion for making a positive impact on the environment and people’s lives through sustainable housing solutions.
Location: Based in London or able to work in the office at least 3 days a week to collaborate effectively with the team.
Bonus if you have:
Technical Knowledge: Home-building technical knowledge
Sales Leadership: Experience in building and scaling a commercial function
GTM Playbooks: Experience developing comprehensive go-to-market strategies.
Tech Savvy: Experience with CRM tools like HubSpot.

Base salary of £60,000-£75,000 depending on experience plus reward-based compensation based on performance
