Job Description

Support our brick-and-mortar retail expansion. We have a vision for how to maximize customer experience in stores and transform the retail space--and we need someone to help operationalize that vision! We are looking for a strong project manager to bring beautiful projects from lease to an on-time, on-budget delivery.  This is an in-office role, based out of our Headquarters, in Carlsbad, CA.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead & manage design team and consultants through all design phases for new construction, remodels, and special projects.

  • Oversee project design deliverables from conception to completion, ensuring brand alignment, timely project delivery, and budget expectations.

  • Create project design presentations for brand and flagship locations globally. Source and conceptualize design direction, communicating direction and standards to Development team.

  • Provide comprehensive technical design direction in partnership with Head of Brand Environments, including the review of detailed design drawings, specifications, finishes, and mood boards from project concept through all phases of the design process.

  • Direct and source relevant products, specifications, design techniques, and production methods relevant to trends and corporate.

  • Interface with Real Estate, Construction, Retail Operations, Visual Merchandising, Leadership, and key Stakeholders to ensure alignment with design direction, brand standards, and strategic company objectives.

  • Lead key internal and external meetings, representing design priorities while providing project-specific design direction.

  • Collaborate with project teams throughout the project lifecycle for adherence to Brand Standards, project timelines and relevant value design solutions.

  • Manage design strategy to optimize brand prototypes and design selections to ensure affordable strategy works within proforma.

  • Provide design guidance and lead design review and approval process, including assessment of project documents and design presentations to ensure compliance with brand standards.


Qualifications

  • Dynamic independent leader who inspires confidence and credibility throughout the organization.

  • Multi-faceted experience and industry knowledge in retail, hospitality, architecture, and design services.

  • Ability to think innovatively and anticipate emerging trends as well as think strategically while also communicating effectively internally and externally.

  • BA in Architecture, Design or related field

  • 10+ year’s experience managing teams and working on global brands in-house rollout strategy.

  • Excellent ability to conceptualize spatial designs and architectural brand imaging.

  • Extremely detail oriented and able to put presentations together independently that meet high-quality standards.

  • Superior organizational skills; ability to plan, prioritize, multi-task and manage projects independently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Sketchup, Enscape (or equivalent rendering program). Working knowledge of Revit/ Rhino a plus.

  • Familiarity with green building principles & practices; LEED credentials a bonus

  • Flexibility to travel (up to 10-15% time) for site visits

Pay Range:

$155,000-$165,000/yr
