Junior Designer - BIOWORLD MERCHANDISING (Irving, TX)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Junior Designer will be responsible for both licensed and non-licensed product development.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shop and research new concepts, market trends and techniques to implement into new product graphic design

  • Create pop-culture license designs by utilizing the assets and directions provided by brand partners

  • Creates final designs that are production-friendly

  • Maintains his/her design tasks in the PLM system

  • Contributes to seasonal development

  • Collaborates with designers in other divisions for cross-category projects

  • Participates in design meetings for aligning and preparing content


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge/intermediate mastery of design skills in concept development required

  • A strong understanding of the fan-based consumer market required

  • Must be organized, responsible, deadline-driven

  • Must be adaptable and able to multi-task to meet the demands of a fast-paced environment

  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present information to leadership

  • Is a proactive thinker in strategy, problem-solving and time management

  • Enjoys being a part of a team and willing to help others/contribute to team effort

  • Can take design criticism and demonstrates willingness to improve his/her work


REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 1+ years of relevant experience in design/manufacturing

  • Degree in Apparel, Fine Arts, or related field (or working towards)

  • Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
