Senior Designer, Experiential, PR Events and Outposts - TOM FORD BEAUTY (NYC, NY)
Job Description
This position involves supporting the Director of Global Experiential to create compelling conceptual designs, guidelines, technical drawings, and production support for PR Events, Outposts, and Installations to achieve overall business objectives for TOM FORD BEAUTY around the world.
DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Regional Design Teams & PR Managers from all international markets to help them produce high-quality, sustainable outposts and PR events, by creating compelling designs within budget targets.
Work with Director of Global Experiential to design and organize Global Events, Regional Events, Outposts, PR Manager Meetings, Brand Conferences.
Partner with the Director of Global Experiential to create concepts, 3D models and renderings, develop 2D drawings (for design intent), and detailed Global Visual Distortion Guidelines to support new launches. This includes liaising with vendors on technical details, material sampling, mockups, and implementing new technologies. Present options for approval to VP Global Creative Director.
Work with the Global Communications team, Creative team, and the Director of Global Experiential to concept experiences and visual language for events, including adaptations for all scales (at-counter, outposts, A-List events, etc.), upholding brand equity and driving innovation.
Utilize global communications brand strategies, to inform design decisions, including existing and new launches, to help drive consistent communications efforts globally.
Work with regional teams to adapt Global designs to local needs, review material samples/technical drawings, and produce Outposts and PR Events. Present options for approval to Director of Global Experiential and VP Global Creative Director.
Participate in weekly calls with regional partners, to oversee and plan PR Events & Outposts (please note, calls with China & APAC regions will be outside of normal business hours from time to time).
Analyze and share learnings of event result impact, to further improve future events and outposts.
15% of time allocated to travel to support production of Global & Regional Events.
Support Tom Ford Beauty & The Estée Lauder Companies sustainability goals through utilization of sustainable practices & materials.
Work with team members to develop alternative methods of visibility (beyond product launches) to maximize opportunities for the brand.
Always work to foster a collaborative and cooperative environment of open communication, best practice sharing and productivity.
Qualifications
3+ years relevant PR Event Design & Production experience at an agency or in-house.
Degree in architecture, industrial design, interior design, graphic design, or related creative field
Experience in live event design and on-site production required.
Proficient in Rhino, Keyshot, AutoCAD, and production of design-intent 2D drawings.
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Understanding of digital communications and social media imperative.
Excellent written and communications skills are paramount.
Solid organizational skills, visual skills, ability to prioritize and strong attention to detail.
Must have the ability to appreciate other cultures, and an understanding of the beauty industry, fashion trends and pop culture.
An understanding of fashion and beauty trends and new technology a plus, as is international experience and foreign language capability.
Experience in fixture-design, Visual Merchandising, Store Design, and/or furniture/millwork design is a plus.
Experience working with Beauty, Fashion, and/or Luxury brands is a plus.
Salary
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $71,000 to $106,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
