Are you a multi-faceted designer who lives for shaping complex, cutting-edge technology into productive and empowering tools? The 3D and Immersive Design Team at Adobe is looking for a Staff Designer who will help envision and build Adobe's 3D creative tools.
Adobe is making big moves in 3D design, but it is still early days! There is a huge opportunity space for the right designer to shape the future of 3D and Immersive at Adobe. We believe that tools shape the world around us, and by building the tools that power and democratize 3D creativity we can have big impact. From the smallest details to big-picture concepts our team members are central to the strategy of Adobe's 3D tools and the future of creativity for all.
You'll work across the creative process with a curious and passionate cross-discipline team; defining the problems to solve, crafting design and interaction explorations, and getting that interaction model and UI to feel juuust right. With your help, our team will strive to build meaningful new creative tools, expanding the palette of possibilities for creators worldwide.
What you'll do
Partnering with designers, product managers, researchers, and engineers to inspire and envision future product features and roadmap.
Crafting user experience goals, priorities, and designs that align with product timelines, coordinating multiple work streams to completion.
Applying human-factors expertise and human-centric design to define and apply UI and UX patterns that address the challenges of 3D creation.
Defining holistic systems and frameworks, laying the foundations of a design-system for 3D and Immersive tools.
What you need to succeed
Must Have:
A passion for 3D design and a 5+ year track record of relevant design experience.
A foundation in human-centered design practices.
Experience designing for real-time 3D and an understanding of the 3D pipeline.
Breadth as a designer, with strong capabilities across several design domains such as research, visual, interaction, prototyping, etc.
Strong system-level thinking, and an understanding of how individual design decisions impact the broader product experience.
Strong storytelling, collaboration, and presentation skills.
Openness and ability to act on design feedback from colleagues in a rapid iterative design process.
Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design tools such as Figma or similar software.
Knowledge in 3D tools such as Blender, Houdini, CAD, Unreal Engine, Unity, or similar software.
Nice to have:
Experience with data / sensor driven experiences like Lidar, mobile, AR/VR, IoT, or similar.
3D prototyping / programming experience.
Design mentorship / educational experience.

Salary
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $135,900 -- $252,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
