Salary Range:

$165,000 - $195,000 (bonus eligible)

Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Lifestyle Design and Product Development Team within Universal Products & Experiences.

We are looking for a highly creative and strategic thinker, storyteller, and creative director to join the team. The role will be responsible for supporting the VP Design & Product Development in crafting and executing our creative strategies for product development across the Americas. You will have a strong creative vision, and the ability to realize design solutions and formulate pitches for consumer product development.

Your ability to communicate the creative vision to our licensing partners and stakeholders will inspire and drive product innovation at retail for our fans for a broad range of film genres across the region within the Lifestyle consumer products categories (Fashion, Food, Beauty & Care).

This is a key creative management and communication role, with creative pitching required both internally and externally, so exceptional presentation and storytelling skills are essential. Hands-on design knowledge is a must, for internal pitch development and when working with external design agencies. Knowledge of licensing is required and experience in designing and developing consumer products and entertainment IP into consumer brands is preferred. A keen interest in fashion and consumer product trends is essential to continually translate our IP into consumer brands with relevance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive creative strategy, communicate priorities, and present to cross-divisional teams internally and externally

  • Lead major regional creative pitches to inspire licensees, retailers, and third-party brands for brand partnerships and collaborations

  • Implement the creative strategy for the Americas region across all Lifestyle consumer product categories (Fashion, Living, Food, Beauty & Care), providing design direction and working closely with the Product development and design team

  • Work with the internal product design team to initiate new pitches and creative briefs for internal or external development

  • Direct commercially viable creative ideas that translate to elevated brand experiences across markets

  • Macro/micro trend development to inform creative programs and business growth opportunities

  • Deliver compelling, fresh consumer product concepts for multiple categories for a broad range of film genres

  • Partner and work directly with outside vendors, designers, and agencies to achieve the highest level of creative

  • Creatively collaborate with the Global Brand Creative Team to ensure assets support consumer needs for all licensed categories and recognize localization as needed to ensure relevance

  • Creatively support the Americas licensing sales and category partners and retail teams with pitches and studio swings

  • Focus on delivering compelling products, innovation, and quality across all product ranges

  • Contribute to a culture of creativity and innovation

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred in product design, graphic design or related field

  • 10+ years Fashion / Design / Product Development experience required

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills required, both written and verbal

  • Experience with development and manufacturing of apparel, accessories, footwear, stationery, consumables, health & beauty, location based entertainment and product packaging is advantageous

  • Ability to deliver thoughtful, clear and concise creative art direction

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, deadline driven environment that revolves around multiple product development calendars

  • Highly organized, proactive – a self-starter

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Participate in travel – both local and international

  • Mac proficient and advanced skills in Adobe, Microsoft and Keynote applications required

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
