Marketing & Communications Manager - Wood (Reading, Berkshire, UK)
Job Description
Working as a communications and marketing business partner to the relevant business group leadership teams, the role holder will plan and create a clear and engaging employee communications and content marketing plan that positions, protects and promotes the Wood brand in relevant markets supporting Wood’s global strategy, BU marcomms, and the businesses objectives.
The role demands an experienced, highly motivated, engaging and persuasive individual that can take ownership of developing key messages and strategies, helping to drive employee engagement, brand awareness and improve customer journey through consistent and effective internal communications, marketing campaigns and proactive external communications.
As a key member of the business unit Marketing & Communications team, you will engage with global marcomms peers to develop the internal and external marcomms plans and editorial calendar for the region as well as support and contribute to the successful and tailored delivery of campaigns across Wood.
This is a multi-faceted role that requires an adept and passionate marketing and communications professional that can develop compelling stories, differentiated and dynamic content and materials to increase brand visibility and stakeholders understanding of Wood, bolstering our strategy, culture and brand vision.

Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications plans focused on key target markets, employee engagement and brand positioning
Create compelling content across a mix of channels including digital and media to communicate key messages to relevant stakeholders
Develop and execute compelling marketing campaigns using a multi-channel approach to drive brand awareness and customer acquisition, working in tandem with growth and development function
Identify and secure opportunities with relevant media outlets in line with focused marketing and communications plans
Build and maintain relationships with relevant media outlets, enhancing positive coverage and acting as media spokesperson, where appropriate
Train and prepare relevant spokespeople for media interviews, presentations and speaking engagements
Proactively manage and respond to reputational issues and act as member of the emergency response team
Promote increased employee engagement and communications across the business
Facilitate and coordinate participation and engagement at relevant tradeshows, conferences and other client related events to enhance and increase brand awareness and promote company solutions
Track and evaluate data and ROI to drive continuous improvement across channels and ensure budget spend is maximised
Act as a marketing and communications business partner for business group leadership team
Autonomy to drive the business group marcomms activity, shape and influence the BU approach
Decision making and management of campaign budgets
Ability to make decisions about content creation and direction
Make decisions relating to issues management and emergency response
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
University degree or equivalent in a marketing, communications or related field or equivalent experience
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Experience in a communications and / or marketing role, preferably within the energy industry
Experience in an international B2B environment
Knowledge of communication and marketing methods and channels relevant to a large, complex organisation
Knowledge of market and industry issues and trends
Experience and knowledge of digital marketing channels, measurement tools and metrics, best practices and trends
Experience in campaign delivery and measurement
Event planning and delivery
Extensive experience in media engagement, management and emergency response
Ability to connect and establish effective, cross-cultural working relationships with all levels of the organisation and externally
Consistently model and lead on Wood’s shared values
