Design Manager - Starbucks Coffee Company (Seattle, WA)
Starbucks Coffee Company is seeking a store design manager supporting our China mainland market. This role can be fully remote but must be available to collaborate with USA-based partners on Pacific Standard Time. This is a fast paced, design forward role, executing over 25 new store builds per year. Lead the development and implementation of the vision for Starbucks' brand, creative objectives, and design processes to enhance the Starbucks experience for the consumer, while innovating best-in-class, meaningful design. Job Duties Include:
Lead design efforts
Manage production of design documents
Coordinate / manage consultants
Act as the primary liaison with the construction, real estate, operations teams in China, and ensure close relationships are maintained
Requirements:
7 years’ experience managing projects and designers
Excellent at multi-tasking, understanding complex project details while moving teams and outcomes forward
Demonstrates a high level of initiative and proactiveness in mitigating risks and recognizing resolutions.
Preference for experience from design-focused firms
Licensure not required.
Communication skills to clients, consultants, and colleagues
Knowledge of current digital production tools: Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, REVIT a must
Familiarity with retail / food and beverage / hospitality preferred but not mandatory
Mandarin a bonus but not mandatory
Travel to China 1/year and Seattle headquarters quarterly
