Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic architectural design engineer who is preoccupied with big questions: Where do we go from here? What are the limits of innovation and exploration? How do we continue to evolve as a species?
This position will work on-site at our headquarters in Houston, Texas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work with a multidisciplinary team to support Axiom’s development of multifunctional facilities.
· Liaison with Flight Hardware Design, Development, and Test (DDT&E) team; Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) team; Fabrication, Assembly, and Inspection team; Facility Architectural Design team; Operations team; and Project Management team
· Assimilate and interpret requirements and processes to accurately inform and coordinate facilities planning and design, facility build-out, furnishing fixtures and equipment, and flight hardware integration and processing scenarios.
· Review and coordinate architectural plans, drawings, specifications and evolving technical and operational requirements to ensure that as-built facilities support Axiom Space’s technical, operational, budgetary and schedule requirements
· Plan and support implementation of workflow, equipment layouts, and facility utilization strategies
· Coordinate revisions and updates with corresponding Architects, Engineers, and Project Management team
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience - candidates may have one or more of the following degrees, including advanced degrees in any discipline:
· Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design
· Bachelor of Architecture
· Minimum 5 years of experience
Skills
· Experience working at an architecture firm or construction management office
· Experience in planning, coordinating construction and outfitting, complex projects (industrial facilities desired).
· Ability to accurately interpret construction drawings
· CAD drafting/modeling experience (Autocad, Rhino 3D, Revit)
· Familiarity with municipal building codes
· Familiarity with industrial processes and flows
