Design Strategist - Snap Inc. (Los Angeles, CA)
Snap Inc. (Snapchat) is seeking a Design Strategist to work on the Design Strategy and deliver premium creative content for Snapchat’s advertisers and partners. The ideal candidate is forward-thinking creative with a background in graphic design, motion and animation. What you’ll do:
Craft elegant design work for multi-faceted advertising campaigns and partnered initiatives; work collaboratively with other designers to bring these visuals to life
Become an expert in Snapchat’s creative best practices and stay informed on product changes and advertising platform developments
Deliver out-of-the-box concepts, designs and presentations for pre-sale premium pitches
Take ownership of the end-to-end design process, from concept to creation and beyond
Deliver storyboards and video work in a range of styles, including character-based, illustrative and typographic
Self-manage timelines, design files, and communication with stakeholders on all projects
Regularly present work internally, providing design rationale for your output
Collaborate closely with Creative Strategy and Sales team members to ensure design executions address the creative ask, tie back to business goals, and result in a high quality end-product
Work with our cross-functional partners to stay up-to-date on projects, product and platform developments
Stay current on relevant design and technology trends that contribute to the progress of personal and team output (e.g. developments in Augmented Reality)
Minimum qualifications:
Degree in Design, Fine Arts, Advertising or similar, or equivalent work experience
3+ years of experience in a design role in digital/print
Preferred qualifications:
A portfolio showcasing high-quality, thoughtful design work
Experience in design and animation across digital and social media platforms
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
Experience developing design concepts that tell compelling stories to a broad audience
Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills in a collaborative environment
Ability to work under pressure and rise to creative challenges under tight deadlines
Attention to detail, in communication and in design output
Strong typography, layout and editing skills
Ability to generate new concepts quickly based on stakeholder direction and self-driven research
Proficiency in presentation software (Keynote and Google Slides)
Knowledge in 3D design / animation is a plus
