Multimedia Creative Designer - Toast (Boston, MA or Remote)

The People Team at Toast is seeking a multimedia designer who can help us bring our brand to life across all of our employee touchpoints. You will be laser focused on a team dedicated to employee experience to design digital and animated communications for our growing culture & employer brand. This roll* will work collaboratively across the people organization to help shape the way we tell stories both internally and externally about our people programs and our Toasters.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to employee experience design efforts across all forms of media and communication, leaning more heavily on digital design, motion design, and basic video production.

  • Help develop resources, guidelines, and templates that empower the people team to create meaningful brand expressions

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including copywriters, designers, learning & development, employee experience and event managers to build and maintain visual brand excellence for a wide range of design needs

  • Understand our employee base, culture and values to help inform your design direction

  • Be able to communicate and present design solutions to key stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience as a designer, agency or in-house

  • A portfolio that showcases a variety of design work across print and digital, and/or a reel that showcases motion design and video production experience

  • Experience in designing engaging learning materials and experiences (microsites, e-books, training videos, etc)

  • Expertise with Adobe CC primarily in Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects

  • Familiarity with Figma, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro

  • Familiarity with Google Suite products

  • Experience working with business and marketing stakeholders; receiving feedback, and adapting work

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and simultaneously work on multiple projects with limited oversight

Preferred Qualifications

  • Attention to detail while still being able to see big picture

  • Experience working on design projects of all sizes; ability to design according to business and technical requirements and comfort with ambiguity and changes in direction

  • Good understanding of digital marketing (Email, paid social, display channels) and best practices

  • Proven track record of leveraging data and insight to inform design decisions

  • Open to learning new skills and expanding current ones

  • Passion for restaurants and the food community
