Associate Creative Director, Tech - COLOR (Los Angeles, CA)

We’re in need of a developer-experienced Los Angeles-based Associate Creative Director with a strong aesthetic and unique point of view to help us in-house.

Requirements

  • No ego! If you have an outsized ego, please don't apply.

  • Experience with big tech brands (Github/Amazon/Google/Microsoft)

  • Must have experience as an associate creative director or equivalent experience as a Sr. Art Director

  • Fluency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign (After Effects preferred but not required)

  • Fluency in code languages and coding (do NOT have to be a developer but must understand how to speak to it)

  • Strong design skills with knowledge of rules and techniques, including following brand guides

  • Experience with advising estimates and workback schedules

  • Understanding of animation and motion design processes, with the ability to direct things that move

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a willingness to ask questions and rally a team

  • Ability to work under pressure/tight turnarounds calmly and easily switch gears between projects

  • Ability to present ideas to clients and pivot as needed on the fly

  • Experience working directly with an executive creative director for reviews and guidance

  • And… #1: Have a killer portfolio. Include creative direction, big ideas, and creative decks

What You'll Do

  • Provide creative direction for motion design, post/video projects, campaigns, digital, web/interactive (heavily in the developer world)

  • Lead concept sessions and further develop creative ideas

  • Motivate a diverse creative team to do their best work

  • Oversee projects from script to final (with copywriters, designers, art directors, editors, etc.)

  • Design and create decks as needed for presentations

  • Work closely with producers, other creative directors, post supervisors, and project creative leads

  • Come up with new processes and evolve current ones

  • Work with a hybrid model – some days working from home and some days working in office
