Experiential Designer - Unispace (Portland, OR)

The Experiential Designer will collaborate with our multidisciplinary design teams to create meaningful and dynamic branded environments that effectively realize the goals of our clients. These branded environments may include corporate event spaces, executive briefing centers, sports and higher education preview centers, stadiums, and arenas for a variety of pro and collegiate teams. The work within these environments will include branding, signage, wayfinding systems, environmental graphics, art, interior design, and digital installations.

The Experiential Designer should be an expert in typography, layout, and visual design and should be well-versed in architectural/environmental design and be naturally interested and knowledgeable on current design trends. The Experiential Designer will work with Design Director to develop compelling concepts, brand strategy, and visual design thinking for all projects. The Experiential Designer will be responsible for carrying work through all phases from concept to production.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Play a critical part in designing branded experiences in the built environment that translate across multiple digital and physical touchpoints.

  • Collaborate with other team members and project design partners.

  • Take smart risks and champion new ideas.

  • Will research and design concepts that continue to push the creative team in its pursuit of new ideas.

  • Work with key production leads and design leads, including the production manager, project managers and producers, and interactive/motion and graphics teams to ensure the design vision is executed in a consistent and quality manner.

  • Thematic and concept design for graphics, environments, and media.

  • Produce final artwork for environmental and digital design execution.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of environmental design, UI/UX, graphic design and/or experiential design in consulting, agency or inhouse.

  • Expert in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (required).

  • Proficient in cloud-based Google Workspace programs (required).

  • Proficient in 3D modeling with Sketchup or like software (preferred).

  • Proficient in digital prototyping tools like Figma and/or XD (preferred).

  • Proven ability to visualize 3D concepts.

  • Proven experience working with major brands weaving in layers of technology and graphic systems.

  • Experience working with story overlays related to interior architecture projects.

  • Must be able to clearly communicate concepts to internal design teams.

  • Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to internal teams, design partners and clients.

  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.

  • Be willing to help teammates, share knowledge and experience with them, and learn from them.

  • Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.

  • Be passionate and curious about design and technology.

  • Proven ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
