Innovation Design Strategist - Booz Allen (Arlington, VA)

Leverage expertise in human-centered design (HCD) and design thinking (DT) to support multidisciplinary teams in tackling complex problems for government clients. Translate knowledge and findings into meaningful and actionable information and compelling narratives to inform and improve digital transformation efforts, organizational strategy, programs, products, and services. Develop and facilitate workshops and sprints that effectively engage stakeholders across the entire DT process. Evaluate the behaviors and sentiments of stakeholder groups using HCD and DT to explore all relevant aspects of a stakeholder’s experience. Apply advanced consulting skills, technical expertise, and industry knowledge.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with HCD and DT methods, processes, and tools

  • Experience with developing and facilitating workshops and sprints for diverse stakeholders in different environments, including in-person and virtual

  • Experience with narrative storytelling and creatively visualizing and communicating research findings and data

  • Experience with virtual collaboration tools, including MURAL and Slack

  • Knowledge of user experience techniques

  • Ability to think critically about a problem set and develop a cohesive strategy that drives actionable solutions

  • Ability to submit a portfolio and work samples

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:`

  • Experience with service design, design research, business design, or customer experience strategy

  • Experience with conducting quantitative or qualitative research, ethnographic fieldwork, and generative research, and communicating data in compelling ways

  • Experience with visual design, graphic design, and multimedia tools, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, or similar video editing software

  • Experience with working on an end-to-end project or project plans

  • Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,300.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
