Chief of Staff - Frolic Community (Seattle, WA)

About Frolic

Building on our founders’ research at the MIT Center for Real Estate, we are creating pocket-communities of 6-20 homes owned collectively via the Frolic Community cooperative housing model, which is designed to bring homeownership within reach for generational renters and first-time home buyers. We build our projects in partnership with single family home owners who have greater development potential on their land and who want to age in place, house their communities, and shape the future of their neighborhoods. We have 6 projects in development and over 30 in our pipeline, and are looking for fellow dreamers with acumen to join our team.

About the Role

We are hiring a Chief of Staff to join our team, serving as a critical support to our leadership and helping to drive our mission forward. This role will be the operational backbone of our organization, ensuring smooth coordination across all aspects of our work and supporting key decision-making processes. Think of this role as similar to a Project Manager for our company operations. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute your skills and expertise to groundbreaking projects that challenge the status quo and inspire positive change in housing equity.

We are seeking an individual with a diverse skill set, strong organizational abilities, and a passion for our mission. This role will be joining the organization at an exciting time of growth, and balancing flexibility with organizational skills is key.

Working here, you will:

  • Provide direct support to the CEO and COO, helping to manage their priorities and conducting ad hoc project work to assist in strategic decision-making.

  • Engage with staff and advocate as needed to prevent bottlenecking and ensure every team member has the information and feedback they need to keep moving forward.

  • Design and implement operational processes and project management structures to improve team effectiveness and to ensure alignment across the organization.

  • Contribute to hiring processes and team development as we grow.

  • Support mission-critical areas to alleviate capacity constraints on other team members.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and take on additional responsibilities as needed in an ever-changing startup environment.

  • Share in our culture of kindness and openness, offering your own insights into how we can best support each other to grow and deepen our impact.

As the organization continues to grow and evolve, duties may shift without impacting the overall job description.
