C.Scale is hiring a Founders Associate to support our team’s work on data-driven decarbonization in the built environment. We're pioneering a transformative approach to decarbonization that could dramatically reduce the building sector's carbon footprint—responsible for nearly 40% of global carbon emissions. Our software and data products empowers architects, engineers, planners, and real estate professionals to measure, manage, and mitigate their projects’ “whole life carbon” emissions. We’re the team behind the open access C.Scale web platform, Autodesk Forma’s embodied carbon analysis, Galvanize Climate Solutions’ Gold tool, and more.
This new position will support the CEO and COO across various strategic and operational functions. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing, tech-focused environment, as you collaborate directly with founders and gain an insider’s exposure to startup decision-making and innovation. We're seeking a dynamic, adaptable "Swiss Army Knife" professional excited to be at the cutting edge of climate technology and startup innovation. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated professional to play a critical role in a seed-stage climate tech startup.
While C.Scale is a remote-first company, this position requires in-person, weekly collaboration with the COO based in San Francisco. In-person presence in New York City will be considered.

Business Operations
Optimize core team infrastructure including HubSpot, Gusto, Notion, and Slack
Continuously improve scalable systems that empower team performance and accelerate growth
Drive recruitment and onboarding to curate an exceptional, mission-driven team
Invest in team culture building and esprit de corps
Growth & Community Engagement
Create and curate high-impact content and materials that inspire potential customers, partners, and investors
Cultivate our Platform’s community hub, supporting user interaction to foster a vibrant, supportive, and knowledge-sharing environment
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support business decisions
Founders Support
Provide dynamic support across ever-changing organizational needs
Prepare research, reports, presentations, and briefings for internal and external meetings
Keep the team organized and high functioning with high attention to detail for meetings, deliverables, and events
Required Qualifications
Recent college graduate in Business Administration, Sustainability, AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) or real estate
Master’s degree strongly preferred
Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in a software start-up or similar fast-paced work environment

This is a full-time salaried position with a competitive starting range of $70,000 to $90,000. Beyond base compensation, we offer meaningful equity and bonus opportunities that could represent significant value as we scale. Top performers can expect:
