Store Design Manager - Marine Layer (San Francisco, CA)

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Brand Environment the Store Design Manager is responsible for bringing a unique, elevated design aesthetic to our growing Marine Layer store fleet. As a creative leader, you will be a part of a team that brings a fun, retro inspired, store experience to life for our customers.

Scope

Design

  • Draft 3D floor plans, elevations and renderings for each location, with a proven understanding of materials, fabrication methods and construction details.

  • Provide proposals for finishes and subsequent details for all design elements.

  • Translate brand design standards and concepts in an innovative yet fiscally responsible way.

  • Clearly communicate design intent - in visual, written and verbal formats - with architects, vendors, cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

  • Balance design, business and customer needs to ensure a successful sales plan for each location.

  • Ensure compliance with Landlord design manuals, state and local codes, ADA compatibility, etc.

  • Anticipate and proactively identify potential hurdles and drive toward solutions.

  • Effectively collaborate with internal and external design and fabrication partners

Project Management

  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem solving skills.

  • Maintain regular communication with our architecture firm to ensure accuracy of design intent, finish and lighting schedules and all other project details.

  • Organize and document all project details to ensure accurate record-keeping and facilitate clear communication with cross-functional partners.

  • Work effectively in an extremely fast paced, unpredictable environment.

Team Player

  • Collaborate regularly with the Brand Environment team, project managers, visual merchandising and our retail operations team, on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Have the ability to lead and organize meetings to meet goals and deadlines.

  • Bring a positive approach to new and challenging projects.

  • Strong communication skills are essential- You will work with a lot of teams!

Qualifications

This role requires specific skills and experiences, including:

-Expertise in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite

-Degree in Architecture or equivalent experience

-Experience in Interior Design or Retail Design

-Proficiency in Google Workspace (G-Suite)

-Strong communication skills

-Exceptional organizational abilities

-Solution-oriented mindset

-Self-motivation and team collaboration

-Positive attitude

Location:

This role is based out of our SF Headquarters and is on site 3 days a week.

There will be frequent travel to project locations.

Salary Range:

$80,000.00 - $120,000.00
