Architectural Project Manager - Inspired ADUs (Oakland, CA)

Position Overview:

The Project Manager (PM) and Project Architect (PA) roles are key to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients. In these roles, you’ll combine design expertise with project management skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet Inspired ADUs' quality standards. You’ll guide clients through the design process, balancing their needs with practical design solutions and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Studio Manager, you’ll be a primary contact for clients and play a central role in ensuring project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical

  • Demonstrate strong design and aesthetic skills aligned with the firm’s portfolio

  • Lead client meetings and maintain effective communication throughout project phases

  • Understand and translate client goals into practical design solutions

  • Develop project schedules, manage project fees and invoicing, and monitor progress to meet targets

  • Conduct zoning and feasibility research, including navigating local codes and regulations

  • Build an appropriate consultant team for each project; coordinate with consultants and stakeholders, including city officials, to expedite permitting

  • Produce detailed Revit-based project documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and coordination with consultant engineering

  • Oversee construction administration, including GC page-turn kickoff, site visits and issue resolution

  • Demonstrate strong design and aesthetic skills, contributing to our portfolio and enhancing our brand presence

General

Qualifications:

  • Accredited architectural degree with 8+ years of residential design experience

  • Proven expertise in project and client management, including meeting deadlines and managing project costs

  • Strong proficiency in Revit, with experience in project documentation and 3D modeling

  • Familiarity with web-based productivity tools (Airtable, Google Workspace) and ability to learn new software quickly

  • Ability to conduct zoning, code, and permitting research, and work closely with city officials

  • Exceptional design, space planning, and aesthetic skills, especially for small residential spaces

  • Strong communication skills, proactive problem-solving, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment


Compensation Structure

Base Salary:

  • $100,000-$120,000 per year based on experience

  • Bi-annual performance reviews & annual raise/promotion cycle
