To expand our team working out of the Santa Rosa, CA office we are actively seeking a Job Captain. At COAR, Job Captains work closely with the internal and extended project team to create design and construction documents in Revit. Job Captains are intimately involved in the project and primarily responsible for creating and coordinating the architectural set of drawings.

Responsibilities:
Use Revit and Enscape to create renderings and VR walkthroughs
Prepare drawings in Revit that adhere to office standards
Assist project team/manager in developing construction documents for permitting, bidding and construction
Participate in multiple concurrent projects from start to finish during design development and construction documents phases
Develop and communicate design ideas and technical information related to the project including, but not limited to, design presentations, client meetings, detailing and hand sketching
Assists in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
Assists in site analysis, research of concept, benchmarks, typology, and precedents.
Provide input to the design and construction schedule – communicate the technical implications of design decisions
Responsible for the development and coordination of the drawings and specifications including: program requirements, code and agency compliance, schedule commitments, product research, and building systems
Organize and coordinate with the architectural and engineering team to execute the work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner
Attend project team and client meetings as required
Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
Provide support for any tasks required for the successful completion of the project
Qualifications:
Required:
Working experience/proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office
Ability to function comfortably, collaborate, communicate, gain trust, confidence, and deal effectively with a wide range of individuals including consultants, contractors, vendors, clients and the COAR Design Group team
Ability to conduct space planning, block planning, and adjacencies in coordination with the building program.
Efficiency in all phases of project development from schematic design through contract administration
Basic knowledge of building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards is expected.
Ability to work in a fast-paced design environment with concurrent projects and responsibilities
Strong communication skills
Preferred:
Ability to use Enscape or comparable software to produce photorealistic renderings and virtual reality walk throughs
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Studio, Smartsheet, and Revizto
Education And Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience with Revit and a broad understanding of the software and its capabilities is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field is preferred.
