Workplace Design Manager - Atlassian (Mountain View, CA)
Overview
We're looking for a Workplace Design Manager to join the Team Anywhere team, to manage the creation of workplaces that reimagine how Atlassians do their best work when they choose to come to an office. This role is ideally performed from the US West Coast.
You'll be a member of the Real Estate and Design team which is nested within the Team Anywhere org. This is an accomplished team of workplace professionals, all motivated by the mission to create awesome places to work.

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: - $152,700 - $203,600
Zone B: - $137,400 - $183,200
Zone C: - $126,700 - $169,000
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

Responsibilities
What you'll do
Manage the creation of design of workspaces in APAC, North America and Europe projects
Prepare design briefs that rely on data and research to inform ways of working
Constantly analyze the performance of workplaces, gather data and incorporate lessons learnt into the design process
Create hypotheses for workplace elements, test and experiment and reinvest learnings into designs
Create global workplace design guidelines and implement these
Work with XFN partners and incorporate customer experience into design
Ownership and autonomy across the entire design process. You will not just oversee the design, you'll help to define the long-term strategy of an exciting and important area of our business.
Collaborate with some of the smartest (and nicest) people in the industry.
Day-to-day you'll work with a diverse team, collaborating with designers, operational experts, program managers, project managers, real estate professionals, scientists, data analysts, event organizers and experience managers.
Contribute to a vibrant team culture, inspiring a team of diverse talents to do the best work of their life. Some days this might be something fun and social. On other days you may mentor another team member on how to increase the impact of their work.
You will be an Individual Contributor (IC) and report to the Global Head of Real Estate and Design who is based in Sydney
Qualifications
Your background
10+ years of workplace design experience
Passion for story-telling, the ability to bring design direction to life with compelling narrative
Experience balancing customer needs with business goals, market viability, and technical feasibility
The ability to measure success with qualitative and quantitative methods
Experience in leading a design team to create workspaces that are based on data, research, experimentation and hyotheses
Great to have
Can communicate design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organisation
Exceptional writer and communicator
Process driven - you will be organised, enjoy structure, process mapping, agendas, hitting targets, being accountable
You are responsive, proactive, a problem solver, strategic thinker who can create content at high speed
You can work as an IC because you are autonomous and can deal with ambiguity
Because of the above characteristics, you're able to establish credibility with partners. You manage these relationships by being reliable, responsive and solving problems
You are comfortable managing design to budget and time constraints
Have experience in data analytics that informs design and creating hypothesis that can be tested and rolled out
You have worked on projects across different geographies, time zones and cultures and because of this, you understand the global context and best in world design outcomes
