Design Manager, North America - Edged (NYC, NY)

We are seeking a Design Manager – North America to work directly with our global and regional design teams to focus on leading the design efforts on cutting edge data center solutions in the North American market.

Key Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and oversee the design process of data center facilities from conceptual design through construction documents and project delivery.

  • Manage a team of internal and external designers, architects, and engineers to deliver top quality designs and ensure timelines and budgets are met.

  • Review and evaluate design proposals, plans, and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

  • Conduct site visits and coordinate with other stakeholders to ensure that designs are continually optimized for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders such as clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure that project objectives are met.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the design team to ensure quality design work and growth opportunities for team members.

  • Stay informed of new design technologies and trends in data center design and architecture, and ensure the team is up to date with the latest innovations.


Skills & Requirements

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field; master’s degree is preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in architecture and data center design. Data center construction experience will also be considered.

  • Proven experience managing a team of designers, architects, and engineers.

  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to data center design and construction.


Specific Skills / Abilities

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant design software.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive committee.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to provide mentorship and guidance to team members.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and ensuring quality standards are met.
