Reality Capture BIM Engineer - Amazon (Boston, MA)

We are seeking a talented and solutions-oriented Reality Capture BIM Engineer to contribute to delivering transformational innovation to the business. As a reality capture BIM engineer, you will work closely with field engineers and cross-functional teams to improve the quality and productivity of automation deployment for Amazon’s fulfillment network.

  • Perform 3D modeling, meshing, and feature extractions of physical facilities and equipment

  • Participate in and execute on 3D and BIM modeling initiatives

  • Analyze multi-layer engineering models for clash detection and produce detailed clash reports

  • Maintain organization and management of 2D and 3D information as it pertains to coordination and design projects including project notes and documentation

  • Maintain and follow QA/QC procedures to ensure consistency and quality of work

  • Support field on-site scanning and process/register 3D LiDAR data

  • Work with field engineers to develop and streamline standard operating procedures for use cases of reality capture for automation deployment

  • Work with and lead coordination meetings with cross-functional deployment teams to deliver timely feedback on installation errors and clashes

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Architecture, Civil, or equivalent

  • 2+ years Autodesk experience (Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, ReCap, and BIM360)

  • 2+ years Point cloud processing and modeling experience

  • 1+ years Industrial experience working with cross functional teams and field operations

  • Excellent business communication skills

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications

  • At minimum 2 years’ experience as a solutions specialist in construction BIM/AEC

  • Field experience, pre-construction BIM or VDC related experience

  • Solid comprehension of construction industry and processes

  • Experience programming in common computer languages including data processing, user interfaces, and statistical data analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $182,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
