ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Experience Designer you will play a critical role in the development of dynamic and engaging experiences for stadiums, arenas, museums, retail spaces, visitor centers, and more. A thirst for variety and new challenges is required. This position merges design with spatial thinking and provides an opportunity to create high profile work for elite athletic programs and brands.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and assist the team with all aspects of design for EGD projects.

  • Visualize 2D and 3D design solutions through the use of multiple mediums including sketching, graphic design, elevations, and digital renderings.

  • Think rapidly to generate dynamic ideas.

  • Communicate effectively and deliver/receive constructive critique.

  • Thrive under pressure and within tight deadlines.

  • Move rapidly from brainstorming to sketches to developed concepts ready for client presentation, with and without direction.

  • Work independently and under the direction of the senior design team.

  • Work collaboratively with the design team through all phases of design, from concept through construction documentation.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong toolkit of artistic and design leadership skills.

  • Energetic and hard-working attitude.

  • Strong understanding of branding concepts and their integration with the built environment.

  • Take pride in and be passionate about design work.

  • A portfolio showcasing design fundamentals, based on a core discipline (graphic design, EGD, industrial design, exhibit design) relevant to Jack Porter's clients.

  • Ability to ideate original concepts through traditional sketching (whether traditional or digital).

  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop and Illustrator).

  • Understanding (or fluidity) in SketchUp is a tremendous bonus.

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • 2-5 years minimum of professional experience in the design industry.
