Director of Logistics - Harmonic Finance Inc (New York, NY)

The Client

Harmonic is excited to be working with a Sustainable Ecommerce/Retail Startup that is looking for a Director of Logistics to join their growing team.

The company provides modern handmade items that are created for people who have a keen eye for artisan pieces whilst also caring for the environment. This company focuses on sustainable sourcing of materials and is proud to design and produce in the United States and create bespoke and unique pieces that can’t be found anywhere else.

This early-stage startup is going through an immense growth period where it is expanding in all areas including headcount. The team is around 50 people at the moment and looking forward to welcoming more on their collaborative team to work amongst an innovative forward-thinking group as they expand into brick-and-mortar retail stores this year.

The Role:

This is a massive opportunity to work with a company looking to scale dramatically in the next few years. This Director of Logistics role will report into the VP Operations but work closely with the CEO. This is a small team which is looking to expand in the coming months.

Duties:

  • Work heavily on strategic implementations and determining the best path to launch new products.

  • Define supply chain solutions that support growth in global manufacturing base.

  • Improve the in-home delivery experience across different product lines and locations focusing on service standards, operating priorities, and financial targets.

  • Develop and monitor customer experience KPI’s making sure there is continuous improvements in customer experiences.

  • Own P&L for home delivery making sure that you are improving contracts and partners.

  • Build and retain logistics partnerships that work on domestic and international suppliers, optimizing costs and service levels.

  • Create and develop a distribution model that supports omni-channel sales ensuring on-time delivery and a seamless end to customer experience.

  • Own P&L for inbound logistics and distribution negotiating contract terms and pricing with partners so they fit with long-term business plans.

  • Develop reverse logistics priorities including securing partnerships to execute product returns, cancellations, and exchanges.

Essential Experience (what our client would like to see):

  • 7-10 years of supply chain/logistics experience.

  • Deep understanding of freight, distribution, and home delivery operating models.

  • Experience working on long-term roadmaps whilst still delivering on short-term priorities.

  • Experience in CPG.

  • Fast-growth startup experience.

Non-Essential Experience (What we would like to see):

  • Experience in furniture company.

  • Past strategic roles.

Salary:

$160,000 - $200,000 + equity.
