Role description
As the Building Policy and Decarbonization Manager, you will play a crucial role within a dynamic team dedicated to advancing research and policy development in sustainable building practices. In this position, you will contribute significantly to researching innovative building technologies and sustainable methods, providing vital insights that inform policy initiatives at Earth Advantage. This role is perfectly suited for someone with foundational experience in the field, eager to collaborate and grow alongside a team of experts. Your contributions will be key in shaping industry standards and influencing policy decisions at multiple levels. You'll be part of a collective effort to drive progress towards environmentally responsible practices, making a meaningful difference in the pursuit of a greener, more resilient future.
Core Responsibilities:
Policy Leadership: Collaborate at state and national levels to develop and implement innovative building performance policies for carbon and emissions reduction.
Project Direction: Manage a range of decarbonization projects, integrating cutting-edge technologies to minimize environmental impact.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with industry experts, community members, and other stakeholders to craft effective carbon reduction policies.
Data-Driven Strategy: Use data analysis to inform policy decisions and evaluate the impact of decarbonization efforts.
Expertise Sharing: Build strategic partnerships, sharing knowledge and driving the adoption of advanced practices in emissions control within the building sector.
Required qualifications
5+ years of project or program management experience.
Experience in project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Prior work experience in energy-related program delivery, energy efficiency consulting, building sciences, and/or residential or commercial construction projects.
Knowledge of building systems and energy efficiency principles.
Deep commitment to Earth Advantage’s mission and demonstrated engagement with environmental or sustainability initiatives.
Excellent communication skills. Proficient in written and verbal communication, including the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of project or program management experience, including Policy Development.
Experience in managing large, multi-partner projects with a focus on sustainability and decarbonization.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and navigate complex stakeholder relationships.
Understanding of energy efficiency and building energy technologies.
Experience with energy utilities or for local or state governments on environmental topics.
Advanced degree in sustainability, environmental management, energy management, public policy, urban planning, engineering (with a sustainability or energy concentration) or business administration.
Compensation
$58,000 - $90,000 annual compensation, dependent on experience.Note: This range represents the compensation opportunity within this specific Earth Advantage job class. Compensation for this position is expected to start between the low and mid point of the pay range.
