Core Responsibilities
In this role as System Engineer you will collaborate with the team to refine the processes, improve material properties and quality control procedures, to facilitate the successful integration of AM technologies and processes into an industrial production environment. More specifically, your will support:
System Integration: Coordinate the technical integration of an end-to-end additive manufacturing process for a highly automated and seamless system operation.
Process Control: Drive the integration and improvement of control systems in Additive Manufacturing machines and -processes to monitor and govern precise functionality for the best reliability, stability and performance.
Root Cause Analysis: Engage in systematic root causes investigations to identify and analyse the manufacturing process issues or failures and help in continuous improvement efforts.
Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, materials scientists and manufacturing technicians, and provide process insights to our partners and internal collaborators to develop and optimize additive manufacturing solutions.
Documentation & Implementation: Assist in documenting processes, procedures, and outcomes for knowledge sharing and future reference to ensure a successful handover for industrial implementation.
Capabilities Building: Support in building capabilities within the LEGO Group to develop and enhance AM skills, knowledge and expertise to expand our AM program and meeting organizational goals.

Additive Design & Manufacturing (AD&M) is developing and maturing Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies in the LEGO Group. We are focusing on the research and development of design methodologies and technologies, production technologies, materials and applications. The department is mainly focusing on polymer AM production for different applications in close collaboration with different partners.
The aim is pushing and driving the AM industry and its technologies towards true large scale manufacturing!
Based out of Billund, Denmark, you will join our AD&M Technology Maturing & Analytics team, which is taking promising AM technologies and processes and advancing them to a stage of high maturity and readiness for industrial implementation. The work includes optimizing and fine-tuning the technologies, conducting extensive testing and validation, and addressing any remaining technical challenges or limitations.
Do you have what it takes?
You have a 1-2 years’ experience working with sensors and connecting the data within a production set-up, or perhaps fresh graduated within the field.
Most importantly you are curious and have a desire to learn more and soak up all the new information that comes your way.
You have flair for innovation, development, and out of the box thinking. Likewise, you are a great teammate with excellent communication skills that enable you to build positive relationships, and to convey a clear message to those around you. In addition, you have:
Strong analytical skills and able to analyze, understand and illustrate data
Problem-solving skills to solve technical issues, identify root causes of problems and propose effective solutions
Ability to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
Proficient programming skills in e.g. Python, R, etc.
Knowledge in OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) communication protocol
Knowledge in OT – Operations Technology
The ability to work self-directed, take initiatives and being proactive
Proficiency in English both verbally and written
