JOB MISSION:


The mission of the Global Retail Design - Store Design Planning team is to ensure alignment, implementation and adherence to global store design concepts and guidelines that are at the forefront of the industry and rooted within the New Balance brand.
The Global Retail Design - Store Design Planner should be experienced in retail design, retail architecture and construction. They will serve as the design concept expert, assisting global regions with all store projects including new store development, remodel, renovation, and relocation of stores. They will bring an enthusiastic, collaborative energy to the team to ensure the New Balance creative vision within the store experience is implemented across all markets.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

IMPLEMENTATION

• Assist in the implementation and global alignment of retail store concepts across all formats
• Serve as liaison to global region in support of all new, remodel, renovation, and relocation store projects.
• Review high level design implementation and floor plans for site specific adaptation of retail concepts and environmental components.
• Provide concept layout and space plans for specific sites as needed by regions.
• Review of project construction documents, as needed, to manage design expectations throughout construction
• Assist regions in vetting and on boarding local vendor partners for adherence to quality requirements and design standards.
• Provide reviews of shop drawings and submittals, if needed, in support of regional build out.
• Aid in development and implementation of new processes as New Balance embarks on retail growth
• Assist in maintaining global floor plan and photo library of all stores.


COLLABORATION

• Collaborate closely with Global Retail Design – Concept team to understand all new concepts, providing regional feedback and learnings from concept roll outs for design evolution
• Work cross-functionally with global partners, Visual Merchandising, Retail Marketing, Operations and Digital internal teams in support of all store development and site-specific needs.
• Partner with Construction teams to understand any concept concerns, collaborate on post construction audits for alignment to format, cost targets and budgets
• Partner with Real Estate Coordinator to understand all region growth plans and prepare for team’s workload.


REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

• Degree in architecture, design, construction, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of experience; retail industry background strongly preferred with experience in project management and concept roll out
• Excellent AutoCAD drafting, Adobe Creative Suite and Office 365 experience required.
• Ability to manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks at once.
• Some travel may be required in future – approximately 10-15 percent.

• Proficiency in multiple languages is preferred.

Flexible Work Schedule
