Experience Strategist - Brand Bureau (NYC, NY)

The Brand & Experience Strategist role is an instrumental one within the Strategy discipline of Brand Bureau. Equal parts strategic thinker and ideator, the Brand & Strategist deftly manages a macro- and micro- view understanding of the task at hand as they work across a wide range of industries-from hospitality, to retail companies to CPG-both to create new brands and breath fresh life into old ones.  This role offers an opportunity to work closely alongside senior team members on some projects, while also charting your own path on others as you problem-solve, innovate, and build stories for brands big and small. The role requires cross-disciplinary collaboration and an eagerness to gain exposure to the world of branding as well as interior and graphic design.

SPECIFICS OF THE ROLE
The below outlines general responsibilities of the role, and serves as a guideline only. Percentages may fluctuate depending on projects, team structure, and bandwidth. 

 

Research & Synthesis

•    Understand the research requirements of a project, and how to utilize the data to inform strategy. This includes competitive research, local/regional research, tourism, consumer data, demographics and psychographics, etc. Think laterally about ancillary streams of research, and interpret and present data in a way that supports our concepts.
•    Maintain keen awareness and understanding of what’s happening in the creative world at large, beyond traditional hospitality (food & beverage, restaurants, bars, and hotel), but also retail, technology, art, and communications.
•    Stay informed and relevant at all times via print, digital, and social media channels.
•    Capture and share knowledge with the rest of the team.

 

Presentation Support
•    Leverage existing presentation frameworks to transform research findings and creative ideation to compelling stores for our client partners and external collaborators.
•    Take high-level direction from senior team members to develop clear and consice presentation slides
•    Maintain high standards and assure quality control across all work, including quality of image research, writing, and editing
•    Facilitating presentation logistics in preparation for client meetings.
•    Support senior team members in project administration and day-to-day logistics.


Creative Development
•    Collaborate with the Client, Senior Strategist, and/or Associate Strategy Director to create exciting and viable brands that address the Client’s business objectives and overall vision.
•     Work closely with the Senior Strategist to develop the conceptual and creative workflow of a project, how to structure each phase of the scope, and the components of the deliverable.
•    Facilitate brainstorms and ideation sessions. Generate compelling concepts rooted in research, critical thinking, and a keen understanding of trends and culture.
•    Build presentation decks, including image research and writing.
•    Maintain high standards and assure quality control across all work, including quality of image research, writing, and editing.
•    Work typologies may include consumer research, brand positioning, messaging, brand activation, etc.

 

Project Management & Administration
•    Support senior leadership to develop and maintain project administrative needs, including but not limited to: drafting internal creative briefs, project timelines, and task lists; organizing internal reviews and client presentations; provide supporting research when necessary.
•    Responsible for gathering, orgtanizing, and disseminating all necessary information, brand assets, research, and other information necessary for the project.
•    Coordinate reviews and approvals with Associate Strategy Directors as necessary.
•    In conjunction with the Senior Strategist, lead client reviews and presentations.
•    Serve as a mentor and guide for junior team members. Lead by example.

 

MANAGER
The Brand & Experience Strategist reports directly to the Associate Strategy Directors.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor of the Arts
•    2 to 5 years professional experience
•    Strong knowledge of local, regional, and global trends
•    Strong knowledge of ancillary cultural trends (art, architecture, design, product, etc.)
•    Strong knowledge of key players in the hospitality industry
•    Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
•    Strong presentation and communication skills
•    Highly organized, collaborative and detail-oriented
•    Fluency in Adobe Creative suite preferred (specifically Adobe InDesign)
•    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
