Art Director - Pollen (Los Angeles, CA)

We’re on a journey to double our output while gaining recognition for our best in class creative in the next 12 months. This role will be one of the main drivers to achieve creative excellence, strengthening the visibility of the Pollen brand and experiences through visual innovation.  The Art Director will work closely with Design Director and Creative Director to oversee campaign creative for Pollen experiences across different genres while solidifying the presence of the main Pollen brand in its products. You’re a self-starter, collaborator, and an excellent communicator. 

In the next 12 months you will…

  • Oversee concept development and execution of full design suites from hero art to secondary assets for multiple campaigns across genres and geographical locations.

  • Inspire and manage a team of designers to achieve their creative potential, setting and maintaining the highest standards of creativity from concept to execution.

  • Keep up to date with Pollen’s brand guidelines and rules from across the Marketing organization. Making sure all artwork talks a consistent Pollen design and copy language.

  • Work closely with Creative Director, Design Director, and Project Managers to help create design solutions that are in line with marketing objectives.

  • Ensure a high volume of design elements are finished and delivered accurately and on time.

  • Think visually but have a thorough understanding of what makes great copy and creative.


  • Drive a paradigm shifting approach to solve for ambitious or multifarious briefs.

  • Manage and monitor multiple projects, both in and out of house through the various stages of development.

  • Understand best design practices across social and paid media channels.

  • Strive for best-in-class creative output while keeping humble with your collaborators. These will include video creatives, motion and graphic designers, project managers and individual stakeholders from marketing and sales teams.

  • Lead by example in promoting an environment of consistency and professionalism by being always prepared, on-point and on-deadline.

  • Promote good communication by keeping all parties informed and in the loop, being responsive to feedback as well as giving constructive feedback to help the team grow.

  • Be agile, adaptable, and positive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 8+ years of professional design experience in creative agency, broadcast, or advertising field.

  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator. AfterEffects is a plus.

  • Superior written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

  • A passion for visual storytelling and popular culture expressed through music, entertainment, and various lifestyles.

  • A versatility of design skills and techniques to accommodate various project needs and tonal expressions.

  • The ability to understand marketing goals and collaborate with team members to build solutions.

  • Extreme attention to detail with a focus on efficiency.

  • Knowledge of Gen Z and Millennial demo is a strong plus.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage a high volume of daily tasks and prioritize when needed.
