Job Description
The Workplace team’s Experience Manager (XM) plays a pivotal role in creating and overseeing programs and spaces that enhance our employees’ productivity and well-being. You are creative and have a keen ability to design solutions to new problems while staying two steps ahead of any ongoing issues. You Will:
Strategize, implement, and manage office programs to cater to the unique requirements of our local markets.
Craft an exceptional office experience for all visitors– including candidates, guests, and teams hosting onsites–to ensure their time in our spaces is truly remarkable.
Design inspiring, immersive, and purpose-driven experiences that align with our company's mission of economic empowerment.
Act as the face of the office both within our spaces and through local slack channel communication, highlighting upcoming events and responding to any employee questions.
Support team workstream projects to plan events and activations that foster connection, inclusion & diversity, brand recognition, and company pride.
Engage our distributed populations by providing support for experiences outside the office (New Hire Outreach, Local Block Chapter Program, Block Parties, etc)
Partner with cross-functional teams (AV, IT, Trust & Safety, Events, and FM, etc) to streamline office functionalities and event execution.
Regularly update office calendars to include all upcoming events and onsites so employees have visibility into what is taking place in the office across certain dates.
Provide on-the-ground support for team onsites and events as needed.
Partner with our Trust & Safety team to ensure our offices remain safe for employees, proactively monitoring and reporting any concerns.
Collaborate with our Centers of Excellence (CoE) team and Global Events team to foster a cohesive global workplace experience program.
Engage in cross-functional collaborations, contributing your insights to projects that shape and evolve the cultural fabric of our work experience and workspaces.
Lead/support projects and priorities of the broader Workplace team as needed.
Foster trusted relationships with local teams, leads, and partners.
Advocate for our stakeholders by effectively representing customer perspectives and feedback during capital projects, program enhancements, and discussions on relocations or renewals.
Oversee the workplace JIRA queue, ensuring prompt resolution of tickets in adherence to established service level agreements (SLAs).
Conduct site audits to verify vendors' compliance with defined scope.
Oversee operations for a public-facing community retail space.
Budget ownership and reconciliation which ensures fiscal responsibility for both the office and community retail space.
Collaborate closely with our Global Social Impact and Events teams and our Property Management and Commercial Real Estate services partner on retail initiatives and community events.
Work with local artists to curate artwork for the community spaces’ public gallery and for uptown station’s (4) billboards.
Be prepared to jump in and assist whenever necessary, maintaining a hands-on approach to delivering exceptional service.
3+ day a week in-office requirement in Oakland, California
Act as a role model and mentor for teammates by sharing knowledge, experience, insights, and providing feedback on performance.
Operate your site(s) autonomously with little guidance and bring best in-class solutions back to the region for potential replication at other site locations.
Qualifications
You Have:
Over 5 years of experience in workplace management, event coordination, employee experience, or relevant roles.
Strong collaborator with partner organizations, adaptable to leading or contributing to projects as needed to accomplish goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Robust financial and operational prowess.
Confidence in communicating with senior leadership and team leads.
Strong sense of urgency coupled with impeccable follow-through.
Capable of accepting and delivering feedback strategically to deliver improved results.
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and change; ability to think quickly and pivot directions as needed.
Familiar with G-Suite and Slack (foundational knowledge of key formulas and integrations).
Experience working with communication and web design (IE: presentations, signage, event flyers, email, etc) within Canva, Adobe, or other similar platforms.
Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $106,600 - USD $159,800
Zone B: USD $99,100 - USD $148,700
Zone C: USD $90,600 - USD $136,000
Zone D: USD $80,000 - USD $120,000
