Job Summary:
As an Experiential 3D Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing immersive and engaging 3D experiences for various events, activations, trade shows, exhibitions, and brand campaigns. Your creative vision and technical expertise will play a crucial role in transforming ideas into captivating physical and virtual spaces that leave a lasting impact on audiences.
Responsibilities:
Conceptualize and design innovative event experiences that align with clients' objectives, brand identities, and budgetary requirements.
Participate in project brainstorms.
Work closely with the Senior Designer and Creative Director to explore, refine, and select a creative direction for each project.
Generate a range of concepts to present to the Senior Designer and Creative Director at the start of each project.
Create scaled/dimensioned diagrams, drawings, 3D models, etc., to clearly illustrate project needs.
Utilize 3D modeling and rendering software to bring concepts to life and create realistic visualizations of event spaces and installations.
Develop detailed 3D renderings, floor plans, and technical drawings that facilitate seamless event execution.
Support design leads and team members and drive the design process.
Source props, furniture, and decor.
Produce graphics using brand guidelines and prepare files for print.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and creative techniques to continuously elevate the quality of event experiences.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines and budgets.
Attend client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts effectively and address feedback.
Work with the Production Director and Senior Designer/Creative Director to design décor elements that meet safety standards, can be produced efficiently, and can be installed and de-installed safely and on time.
Collaborate with production teams and vendors to ensure accurate implementation of designs and oversee on-site installations.
Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas of improvement and provide insights for future projects.
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in an industry utilizing spatial design.
BA or equivalent required in a design-focused major (architecture, industrial design, 3D).
Experience in 3D modeling, environmental design, and graphic design.
High proficiency in Mac OS / Windows PC, Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Excellent working knowledge of 2D/3D drafting, modeling, and rendering programs such as SketchUp, Rhino, CAD, Vectorworks, Vray, and Enscape
Strong conceptual abilities (developing ideas/concepts individually and as part of a team)
Excellent artistic and creative abilities with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics
Strong client service, self-motivation, and time management skills required.
Solid understanding of technical aspects of event production, including materials, construction methods, and technology integration.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate design concepts to clients and team members.
Must be an effective project leader, a clear communicator, highly organized, very detail-oriented, and able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving project requirements.
Adept at working independently on multiple projects simultaneously.
Must have an elevated and culturally relevant design aesthetic.
Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successful event design projects.
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000.
Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; location and region; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
